Princess Goblins - Ten Yetman

$600.00
SOLD OUT

Princess Goblins / 2022 / Ten Yetman (Winnipeg, Canada) / Acrylic and ink on canvas / 10 x 12 inches / $600

“A sobbing Goblin caries a fully matured Goblin inside her womb, who is systematically poking her from within (with pins). The cactus head friends all around wait in anticipation for her birth, when she will become Princess Goblins!”

Ten Yetman is a visual artist born in Winnipeg, Canada. After attending the Fine Arts Program at the University of Manitoba (2004-2009) she spent many years living in Mexico City and afterwards in Nagoya, Japan teaching art classes and exhibiting her work. Heavily influenced by her experiences abroad, her work explores cultural and historical expressions of death and immortality. After moving back to Canada in 2013 she has been continuing to paint and exhibit work in Canada and the United States. Ten's work is a hyper-juxtaposition, constantly referencing both "comforting" bright colours and patterns, candies and sweets, parties and beach scenes and "uncomfortable" images of horror. Her most recent work features creatures of her own invention and has been heavily influenced by the cemeteries of Real de Catorce, Fellini Films, DEVO music videos, 80s's fabrics, Greek Mythology and early 20th century British Literature.

This piece is not available for pick-up or shipping until after June 17, 2023 as it is part of the current exhibition.

Domestic and international shipping available for an additional charge.  Request shipping invoice at checkout.
